These Kids Took Instructions Way Too Literally

Some just don't follow the rules..

Kids are quite innocent and they will believe anything that you say. They are not familiar with the various tools of language like metaphors, sarcasm or allusions. Often adults use these tools when they are talking to kids and the children just blindly follow the words that they hear. We thought it might be fun to have a look at all the children who followed instructions to the letter, and it turned out to be quite hilarious.

Eye On The Ball

This dad asked his son to keep his eye on the ball so that he could aim better. However, the child, hilariously, started to place his eye on the ball.

Arranging Them In Alphabetical Order

This is the homework from the 2nd grade and was done by a 6-year old child. He took the instructions literally and arranged the letters of each word.

Puppy Training Videos

This family got a new puppy and they told their son to look up puppy training exercises on YouTube so he could learn how to train the puppy. The child thought the videos were for the puppy.

New Years Toasts Traditions

This family told their 3-year old that they were going to toast to a New Year celebration. Just a few minutes before New Year began, the child asked them “Are we gonna make toast now?” And the family started a new tradition for New Years.

Eating Half The Grapes

The child told his mother that she gave him a lot of grapes so the mother told him to only eat half of the grapes. The child ate half of every grape.

Feeding The Cat

The family asked the toddler to feed the cat and did not mention anything about what to feed the cat. The child gave the cat an orange.

Bringing Fish To School

It was “Bring A Fish To School Day” and while other children brought their pet fishes, this little fella brought a fish that was ready to be cooked.

This guy was told not to go outside so he found a clever way to stay inside. He did not put a foot outside the house.

A Mother told this kid that it was too nice to play games inside and the kid took his laptop, chair and desk outside to play games.

When you do not know how you got the right answer and you have to show your thinking, just draw a picture of yourself thinking of the answer.

This kid was told to draw hands on the clocks so he decided to give the clocks actual hands that could hold stuff rather than draw the hands that tell the time.

Making The Computer Go Faster

This guy was fixing his computer in order to make it go faster. When his kid asked about it and he told the kid that he wanted the computer to be faster, the kid added a stuffed toy of Sonic to it.

Naming The Shapes

This child has accurately named all the quadrilaterals in the paper. On a side note, Tedison is quite an impressive name.

A Bedtime Story Adventure

“My dad told my son to get ready for a bedtime story adventure, so he grabbed his warm hat and a flashlight.”

Using Chopsticks

This kid was told to use chopsticks at the Japanese restaurant. He decided to use the chopsticks to hold the spoon that he used to eat the soup.

Water In The Dog’s Bowl

A mother asked her son to place a jar of water in the bowl for the dog. The kid just put in a jar full of water in the water bowl of the dog.

He Knew The Future

While other kids would have just drawn themselves holding a medal of bravery for being a superhero, this kid was being realistic and drew his own tombstone.

This child in Elementary was told to write letters to Santa so he just wrote the alphabet on the paper.

The mother told her daughter to put her shoes by the front door. So, the daughter took her shoes and placed them directly in front of the door.

This mother told her kids not to eat all the strawberries and the kids did just that, eating all the strawberries except one.

Deodorant has to be used from about 15 cm away as it is written on the instructions to use. This little kid decided to use a ruler to measure the exact distance.

The question asked if the kid could draw a magical mushroom and the kid just answered yes. Technically, he is not wrong.

The mother told her son that the toilet is where the pooh goes. Poor Winnie the Pooh.

This kid was told to put the pizza costume back where it belongs and as we all know, if you want to store pizza, you have to put it in a refrigerator.

This kid has been watching a lot of television shows about prison. He knows that the most important parts of a cell are that it should have iron bars and no windows.

This child was asked to put her toys away and the mother came to find the toy guitar put away behind the real guitar. Kids learn from their parents and this child thought that this was how you put a guitar away.

Getting The Kid To Work

This 5-year old boy was told by his father that if he could blow it up, he could jump on it too. The poor child started to blow it up by mouth rather than use the fan that comes along with it.

This child was told to put away all his clothes. Apparently, there was nothing said about the hangers and the child just decided to use a creative mind and create an art piece out of the hangers.

This little girl was asked to put the cookies on the dining room table and she did just that, following the instructions to the letter.
